Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability of a recorder by a method wherein plural detectors are provided on the recording unit of the recorder so that an oblique transfer, that is a skew, is detected and corrected reliably through a time difference for the tip of the recording paper until it reaches to the detector. CONSTITUTION:When recording paper 10 is transferred askew the recording paper can not be detected by left and right photosensors 13 and 14 located in the vicinity of feeld rollers 11 and 12 simultaneously. If the recording paper 10 is skewed clockwise, the recording paper 10 is detected first by the photosensor 13, and the recording paper 10 is detected by the photosensor 14 followed by a delay corresponding to an extent of a skew. Then detecting signals of both the sensors 13 and 14 are applied to a timing controller 15 in this order, an output signal is supplied to a right feeder driver 17 from the controller 15 by a predetermined time corresponding to its signal difference, and then the skew of the recording paper is corrected also by supplying an output signal to a left feeder driver 16.
