Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a paper feeder comprising a platen around which a web of paper is mounted, a sprocket for feeding paper installed near the back thereof and a paper holder provided between the two components, which is capable of preventing a web of paper threaded over between the platen and the sprocket from being floated by holding down the web from the front with the paper holder. CONSTITUTION:A sprocket 12 for feeding paper is provided at the back of a platen 11, as close thereto as possible, and a strip of paper 13 is threaded over between them. The paper 13 is guided to the platen 11 along a paper guide 14 from the rear lower part of the platen 11, and the leading edge of the paper 13 fed out from the platen 11 is caused to pass through under a paper holder 15 and is rewound by the sprocket 12 provided at the back of the holder. The paper holder 15 is composed of a long frame member of L shape in crosssection, and it is arranged between the platen 11 and the sprocket 12 along their axial direction.
