Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically detect a position of an adjusting point, by varying the extent of correction of convergence of the adjusting point on a screen, moving it in order, reflecting it on an image pickup element, and detecting whether a position of the compensating point in a television camera has been varied or not. CONSTITUTION:A signal of each adjusting point is generated from a dot generator 25. Subsequently, the extent of compensation of convergence of each adjusting point is varied in order so as to be moved in the vertical or horizontal direction by a position signal controller 31. A position movement detector 32 detects a position of a dot from an output signal of a television camera 9, compares it with a detecting data detected and stored before, and discriminates whether they are incoincidence or not. In accordance with a result of this discrimination, convergence of the whole picture is adjusted by moving the adjusting point in order.
