Abstract

PURPOSE:To satisfy fastening of circumferential direction and at the same time, make axial thrust sufficient by applying axial thrusting force to an inner tube simultaneously with application of tube expanding liquid pressure, maintaining axial thrusting force at specified pressure of tube expanding liquid pressure at the contact point of inner and outer tubes, and continuing to apply axial thrusting force for a specified time after removing the tube expanding liquid pressure. CONSTITUTION:An inner tube 2 is put in an outer tube 1 and the inner tube 2 is expanded and plastic deformed by applying liquid pressure to inside of the inner tube, and a fastened double tube is manufactured. At this time, with specified rise of tube expanding liquid pressure, a hydraulic jack 16 is operated for the inner tube 2 to push forward a plunger 17. A check valve 10 is then closed to raise pressure of filled cooling water and axial thrusting force is applied. This axial thrusting force is maintained at a specified pressure of tube expanding pressure at the contact of inner and outer tubes, and the axial thrusting force is continuously applied for a specified time after removing the tube expanding liquid pressure. Consequently, sufficient axial compression residual stress is obtained in addition to the self-fastening of tubes.
