Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an automatic sheet feeder of a facsimile which can assuredly absorb a sheet at the start of feeding by cutting off a part of the peripheral surface of a feed roller, the cut-off portion being positioned below the surface of a placing table during nonrotation.
CONSTITUTION: A feed roller 25 and a vacuum box 115 are disposed beneath a sheet placing table 6. The start of feeding and rotation cause the feed roller 25 to project its noncut off portion over the sheet placing table surface, so that a sheet is fed by a frictional force between the feed roller 25 and a separating roller 23. When the separated advancing sheet reaches a second sheet detector S2, the feed roller 25 makes just one revolution to stop with a cut-off portion up. Thus, the leading edge of a sheet is not folded down at the time of setting, and besides vacuum means will not cause an air leak at the start of feeding.
