Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to avoid the impossibility of supplying coolant due to the trouble of a water supply pump even at the time of control power source failure by connecting another fluid switching valve to a switching valve which detects the malfunction of the pump. CONSTITUTION:When a hydraulic turbine start command is issued, a water supply pump 7 is energized and started, and coolant from a water supply distribution piping system A is drained through a normal time draining piping system B to a draft pipe 4. When an impossibility of supplying water occurs due to the stoppage of the pump 7, the normal time draining piping system B is switched to an abnormal time draining piping system C by the tension of a spring interposed in a switching valve 54 which opens or closes the passage of hydraulic oil due to the abnormal drop of the discharge pressure at the discharge side of the pump 7. In this manner, the coolant from the water supply piping system A is drained through the system C to a drain tunnel 35, thereby enabling the continuous supply of the coolant.
