Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of the stopping position of the motor, and to ameliorate the degree of freedom of structure by mounting the braking mechchanism while opposing it to a rotary magnetic plate set up around a rotor and working the braking mechanism to the magnetic plate when stopping the motor and stopping the motor. CONSTITUTION:The braking mechanism 4 is mounted while being opposed to the outer circumferential section of the rotary magnetic plate 200 to which a rotor magnet 23 is attached. The braking mechanism 4 is formed by a brake pad 43 set up to a supporting fitting 42 with a fulcrum 46, a spring 44 and a solenoid 41, and the brake pad 43 is pushed against the rotary magnetic plate 200 by exciting the solenoid 41 when stopping the motor. Accordingly, the motor is braked with excellent accuracy as compared to the case when the motor is braked through the control of conduction to a coil 24 of the motor, and a clear static picture is obtained if the motor is used as a capstan motor for driving a magnetic tape.
