Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the transparent ceramics of tetragonal-system ferro-dielectric by adding metal A(Bs, Sr, Ca) to solid solution Pb(Zr-Ti)O3 in the form wherein low temperature sintering can be performed.
CONSTITUTION: Transmittance of ceramics having a Pb(Zr-Ti)O3 series pervskite structure has a rule for every group in the periodic table of an element M. The first and second group elements MI and MII do not affect the optical transmittance. MIII, MV, and MIV improve the optical transmittance. MVII and MVIII impede the optical transmittance. In order to perform the low temperature sintering, 15∼35mol% or less of A1-z(MI1/2MII1/2)z(Zr-Ti)O3 where 20≤z≤ 99, is subjected to solid solu tion. Or 5∼20mol% of A(MIII1/2MIV1/2)O3, 10∼25mol% of A(MI1/2MV1/2)O3, or 3.5∼12mol% of MIMIVO3 is subjected to solid solution. Or 3∼6mol% of R2O3, where R is La, Nd, or Sm, is subjected to solid solution with respect to PbA(Zr- Ti)O3. In this constitution, perfectly transparent ceramis for optical elements can be sintered at a low temperature.
