Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the high accuracy cutting of a work on a paraboloid of revolution, by controlling the distance between the centers of rotation of a tool and a work in accordance with the rotary angle of a single point cutting tool such that the edge of the cutting tool will draw the parabolic curve on the work cutting face. CONSTITUTION:In the pulse train of the simultaneous two exis produced from a numeric controller 30, one will be provided to a rotary motor 14 to rotate a tool shaft 16 while the other will be provided to a servo motor 27 to move a work supporter 20 and to control such that the edge of a cutting tool 15 will draw a parabolic curve on the work cutting face thus to rotate a rotary table 21 with low speed. In the formula, (a) is the focus distance of the paraboloid of revolution, (d) is the diameter of revolution of the cutting tool 15, theta is the rotary angle of the cutting tool 15 and X is the distance between the shafts.
