Abstract
PURPOSE:To process all types of barrel cams with a high precision without requiring the manual finishing by connecting a rotary table shaft and a rotary shaft of the object under process to a two shaft simultaneous control servo mechanism which controls the revolution. CONSTITUTION:In a cutting device of a barrel cam largely used for a high speed automatic machine, if the relationship between the barrel cam revolution angle and the turret revolution angle is substituted for the relationship between the revolution angle theta of a cam substance V and the revolution displacement S of a rotary table T, the locus N becomes equal to the shape of the cam groove of the barrel cam. Therefore, by arranging a rotary tool E such as a milling cutter with the same shape as a trailing roller at a fixed point, a cam groove with the desired shape can be obtained. The shaft of the table T and the rotary shaft of the object under process are connected to a two shaft simultaneous control servo mechanism, which controls them so as to satisfy S=f(theta).
