Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase only the flange width of product H-steel with the use of roughly shaped wide flange beam of the same shape in rough universal mills by forming the leading end parts of flanges to large wall thickness then screwing down the same so as to make the flange thickness equal. CONSTITUTION:A blank billet such as beam blank consisting of a flange 1'A of width B1 and thickness tF1 and a web 1'B of thickness tW1 is heated to required temp. in heating furnaces 2, 2' in a rolling line and is fed to a roughing mill 3. The roughly shaped wide flange beam having the flange A and web 7b rolled with the mill 3 is rolled with a rough universal mill 4, by which the thickness in the leading end parts 10C of the flange 10A is made thicker by a difference DELTAT than the thickness in the root part of the flange. Next, it is subjected to edging rolling of the flange 10A with an edger mill 5, thence the above- mentioned rolling by the mill 4' and the mill 5' is repeated. Thereafter, the flattening rolling of the flange 14A by a finishing universal mill 6 is carried out, whereby the product wide flange beam 14 is produced.
