Abstract
PURPOSE:To greatly improve the intake efficiency, by providing a one-way valve, which allows only the flow toward a combustion chamber, in an accessory intake passage which is opened in the wall of a cylinder and is connected to or disconnected from the combustion chamber depending on the displacement of a piston. CONSTITUTION:A main intake passage for supplying an intake into a combustion chamber 5 through an intake valve 8 and an accessory intake passage 9 opened in the wall of a cylinder 1 are provided. A reed valve 10 is installed in the accessory intake passage 9 to allow only the flow toward the combustion chamber 5. A guide slope 4a is provided on the top of a piston 4. When the piston 4 is moved down to the vicinity of the bottom dead center, a port 9c is opened so that the intake is introduced into the combustion chamber 5 through the accessory intake passage 9 as well and flows upward on the guide slope 4a and is stirred and mixed with the intake introduced through the intake valve 8. This results in greatly improving the intake efficiency.
