Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit alternate observation of plural observation surfaces of different optical path lengths in a focused state without moving an optical system with simple constitution by putting an optical path correction glass plate into and out from between an objective lens and a microscope stage. CONSTITUTION:An optical path correction glass plate 8 is provided freely insertably and removably between an objective lens 4 and a microscope stage 3. When the surface A of a specimen 1 is observed with this constitution, the plate 8 is removed from the optical path and the surface A is focused. Next, in the case of a surface B, the specimen 1 is moved leftward and the plate 8 is inserted. Here, if the distance between the surfaces A and B is defined as (t), and the refractive index of the plate 8 as (n), and if the thickness (h) of the plate 8 is selected at nt/(n-1) by Snell's law, the focus can be matched to the surface B without moving a microscope 2. Thereby, the surfaces A and B having an optical path difference are observed alternately without moving the micoscope.
