Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce synthesized phase errors based on the deviation of amplitude of a phase modulator, by providing a phase modulator which is modulated toward an opposite direction to each other, in two input paths to a power synthesizer. CONSTITUTION:Frequency converters 1, 2 convert signals IN1, IN2 from two antenas provided beforehand so that the correlation of attenuation or reception power is lowered at fading, into an intermediate frequency signal with an output of a reception local oscillator 3. A phase shifter 4 receiving the output of the converter 1 performs a suitable phase shift operation with a signal of a control circuit 9 and the shifted signal is applied to a power synthesizer 11. The output of the converter 2 is applied to a power synthesizer 12. A power synthesizer 13 synthesizes the 1st output of the power synthesizers 11, 12 to produce the output of the main signal system. The 2nd output of the power synthesizers 11, 12 are subjected to the modulation mutually toward an opposite direction at phase modulators 5, 14 with a signal of a low-frequency oscillator 10. The output of the modulator is given to a power synthesizer 6. The phase modulators 5, 14 can be used at a region with less amplitude deviation and the deviation can be improved correspondingly.
