Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent charges of charged toner from being leaked via a signal electrode even if a signal electrode is in off-stage, by providing the signal electrode applying charges to toner and a conductive member on an insulation support and coating specified parts with a coating layer. CONSTITUTION:A signal electrode 4 provided opposing to a circumference of a donor roller 1 has a constitution that a conductive member 4a is implanted in an isolation support 4b, a coating layer 4d having a desired electric characteristic is provided with a tip 4c of the conductor member 4a and the desired charges are applied to the toner layer on the donor roller 1 via the coating layer 4d. In this case, an electric signal is supplied from the electric signal source via the layer 4d, but since the charges on the toner layer is not delivered to the conductor member 4a via the layer 4d, no charge pattern is deteriorated when the signal electrode is in off-state.
