Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a small-sized copying machine, by turning a rod shape photoreceptor formed with a specific photoconductive layer and turning it with an angle larger than the specified angle to obtain one sheet of copy. CONSTITUTION:As a photoreceptor, the photoreceptor forming a photoconductive layer made of a amorphous semiconductor with >=100 Vickers hardness and >=80 deg.C heat resistance on the circumference of a metal-made small-diameter drum, is used. While turning this photoreceptor, each process of charging, exposure, development, cleaning and discharge is made and the photoreceptor is turned at an angle larger than 360 deg.. A photoconductive layer is formed with an amorphous semiconductor and when this photoconductive layer is crystallized by temperature rise around the photoreceptor, the semiconductor does not function as the photoconductive layer. Thus, the photoconductive layer of the photoreceptor must not be crystallized by the said temperature rise and the accumulation of heat due to friction. This is referred to as heat resistance, and 80 deg. heat resistance means that the photoconductive layer is not crystallized even if the temperature of the photoreceptor reaches 80 deg.C.
