Abstract

1. A process for smoothing a photoconductive layer, consisting of arsenic triselenide and applied to a conducting carrier, for an electro-photographic copying process in which the developed toner image is transferred from the photoconductor surface onto a copying material, characterised in that by heating by means of electronic irradiation, the layer is temporarily softened, at least in the region of its surface, to an extent such that an automatic smoothing of the surface occurs.
