Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce speckle noises by inserting a supersonic transmitting element between the semiconductor laser and a reflector and also coupling beams from the other side of the semiconductor laser with the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The output beams to the reverse side to the optical fiber 6 of the semiconductor laser 1 oscillating at a single wavelength are coupled with the reflector 5 through a lens 2. The supersonic transmitting element 3 is inserted between the lens 2 and the reflector 5 at that time. The beams emitted from the laser 1 transmit the element 3 twice by the reflector 5, the phase is modulated by supersonic waves, and the beams are recombined with the laser 1 again. Accordingly, the laser 1 oscillating originally at a single wavelength is oscillated at a large number of stable wavelengths, speckles are decreased when the output beams of the laser 1 are combined with the optical fiber 6, and the speckle noises are reduced.
