Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the breadown of a pile by earthquake by sufficiently enlarging the upper end part of an iron bar cagebuilt in concrete pile. CONSTITUTION:As usual, a pile 1 in which an iron bar cage 3 of the same cross sectional area through out its whole length is built is manufactured. Then, soil on the peripheral area of the upper end of the pile is removed, and a bowl- shaped surrounding plate 4 without bottom is set. And, concrete is poured into the bowl-shaped surrounding plate 4 in such a way as to make it contact with the upper end part of the pile 1 to form an expanded head part 2 of a given cross sectional area. Also, the upper end part of the pile 1 is integrally buried under a foundation slab B to reinforce the upper end part of the pile 1 in the foundation slab B.
