Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce ripples by inserting a reactor between the neutral point of an armature winding and an auxiliary diode. CONSTITUTION:A reactor 16 is inserted between the neutral point 8 of armature windings 2a, 2b and 2c and the connection point 10 of auxiliary diodes 11N, 11N'. This allows the single-phase all-wave rectification of tartiary harmonic electromotive force generated at the neutral point with the auxiliary diodes 11N and 11N'. The force thus rectified is added to DC outputs by 3-phase all-wave rectification and fed to a load resistor 5. As an AC generator for vehicle increases in the revolution, ripples based on tartiary harmonic out puts increase. But the reactance of a reactor 16 increases, which reduces the increase in the ripples based on the tartiary harmonic waves. This can reduce the ripples in the high speed range thereby enabling the increasing of the outputs in the low speed range.
