PURPOSE:To obtain the device wherein the part which is not checked for flaws does not remain, by providing a reference reflecting body which reflects part of the ultrasonic wave used for detecting the flaws on a non-rotating part of a probe, obtaining a rotating signal, and performing the automatic control of the feeding of the probe in the direction of the axis of the pipe in synchronization with the actual number of rotation. CONSTITUTION:The number of rotation of the rotary part at the time of flaw detection is set by a number of rotation setting part 21. The voltage corresponding to the preset number of rotation is applied to a DC micromotor 22, and a piezoelectric transducer 18 which is incorporated together with a rotary part 4 is rotated. An ultrasonic beam 17 which is transmitted from the piezoelectric transducer 18 is also rotated by the rotation of the piezoelectric transducer 18. Every time the beam 17 crosses the reference reflecting body 16, the reflected wave of 1 pulse/rotation is obtained and detected as a rotating pulse N.
