Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce oil leakage at the blower side by applying a floating bush type bearing to support the turbine side of the shaft and a roller bearing to support the blower side and reducing the amount of lubricating oil to be supplied to the roller bearing. CONSTITUTION:The supercharger has a casings and a shaft 2. Thrbne blades 3 and a blower 4 are installed to the shaft 3. A floaring bush 5 is installed in an intermediate casing 1a behind the turbine blades 3 as a bearing to support the turbine side of the shaft. Lubricating oil is supplied to this bearing from an oil supply passage 6 penetrating through the intermediate casing 1a. A roller bearing 8 is installed to the blower side to support the shaft together with a support ring 9 and a support beam 10 which connects the support ring to the blown casing 1c. Since the loss of mechanical energy is reduced by the roller bearing 8, the amount of lubricating oil thereto can be reduced resulting in reduction of oil leakage at the blower side.
