Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress a chroma signal in black and white directions concentratively, by setting the output of the chroma signal to zero in a time when the level of a luminance signal is outside the range between a voltage for setting the suppresion level in the black direction and a voltage for setting the suppression level in the white direction. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal EY is supplied to the first and the second level comparators 1 and 2 from an input terminal T1. As the output of the comparator 1, an output voltage EO1 is obtained for the signal EY less than a suppression level Ei1 in the black direction, and an output voltage Eo2 is obtained for the signal EY equal to or more than the level Ei1. As the output of the comparator 2, the output voltage EO1 is obtained for the signal EY less than a suppression level Ei2 in the white direction, and the output voltage Eo2 is obtained for the signal EY equal to or more than the level Ei2.
