Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect always accurately and surely a framing code signal FRC, by detecting the occurrence of malfunction in the detection of the FRC to correct the group delay characteristic of the transmission line in a receiver. CONSTITUTION:A group delay correcting circuit 10 is selectively connected and disconnected between a circuit 1, which includes devices from a tuner to a VIF detector, and a gate circuit 2 for extracting a character signal by a relay 11. An FRC detecting and timing pulse generating circuit 5 outputs a continuous pulse train signal of 60Hz when the FRC is detected normally, but the circuit 5 does not generate output pulses when the FRC is not detected accurately. A discriminating circuit 12 detects the absence or the presence of these pulses; and when pulses are not detected, and correcting circuit 10 is inseted to the signal path by the relay 11. As the result, the waveform distortion of the FRC is improved.
