Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a good combustion efficiency and combustion rate with a powder fuel having bad burning properties, by blending a slow-burning powder fuel with a rapid-burning powder fuel and blowing them into a furnace together with a carrier gas.
CONSTITUTION: A slow-burning powder fuel containing 10wt% or more combustible volatile matter, e.g. coke for a blast furnace, is blended with 50wt% or more rapid-burning powder fuel containing 20wt% or more combustible volatile matter, e.g. Risgow coke, to blow them into a furnace together with a carrier gas. When a blending ratio of the rapid-burning fuel to the slow-burning fuel is less than 40wt%, the combustion ratio is hardly improved. After the blending ratio reaches 40wt%, the combustion ratio is abruptly raised and, in particular, the mixed fuel blended with 50wt% or more raiod-burning fuel shows an excellent combustion ratio hardly inferior to a sole rapid-burning fuel.
