Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve reproduction image quality by changing the exposure position of the light image or light signal to a photoreceptor relatively with respect to the center of the electric discharge of a corona discharge means and at the same time by changing exposure thereby selecting the E-V characteristics of the curve by the relation between the exposure of the light image suited to the image quality to be reproduced and the potential of the perfected latent image. CONSTITUTION:This relates to a method and device of forming the latent image correspondig to the original image on a photoreceptor 5 having an insulation layer on the surface by the discharge of the DC corona from the 1st corona discharger 6 and the AC corona from the 2nd corona discharger 7, the image irradiation of the original image through the discharger 7, and further the full surface irradiation with a lamp 8, wherein the exposure position to the photoreceptor 5 is changed relatively with respect to the center of the discharge of the discharger 7; at the same time, the exposure of the light image or light signal is also changed to prevent the generation of photographic fogs and the gradation of the original is reproduced faithfully within the range meeting the object.
