Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the assured connection by soldering between a liquid crystal display panel and a display driving circuit part, by applying metallic plating on the terminal part of a transparent electrically conductive film formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning, sensitizing, activating and other processes are applied to a substrate 2 containing a pattern transparent electrically conductive film 1. Such substrate 2 is dried in a hot air and then dipped into a nonelectrolytic nickel plating solution of about 60 deg.C to form a nickel plated layer of about 5,000-6,000Angstrom on the entire surface of the substrate 2. After this, the undersired part is removed by the photoetching method to have a nickel plated layer 3 only on the terminal part of the film 1. The layer 3 is heated in the air about an hour and at about 250 deg.C to increase the adhesive strength of the layer 3. Then the substrate 2 is combined with another substrate 2 to obtain a liquid crystal panel (4 and 5 showing an adhesive and liquid crystal respectively) by an ordinary method. This liquid crystal panel is easily connected to the circuit part 8 of a display drive circuit substrate 7 via the solder 6.
