Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the packing density of the fibers in a cavity uniform by preventing the dislodging of fibers in a dewaxing stage in forming a mold which makes the wax of a molding mixed with wax and fibers exchangeable with molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of molten wax 4 and short fibers 2 is molded with dies of a prescribed shape to a molding 6 of the mixture having intended fiber density. Next, a sprue 8 made of wax is melt-stuck via a partition wall 7 having fine through-holes 7a to this molding 6, and a refractory layer 9 is formed on the outside circumference thereof. Thence, these are heated to elute the wax component 4 while preventing the disloding of the fibers with the partition plate 7, thereby forming a mold 10 packed uniformly with the fibers in the cavity. Thereafter, matrix metal is poured into the mold 10, and the metal and the fibers solidify to one piece.
