Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the solution-short circuit between cells and enhance the battery efficiency, by inserting a rotor into a solution-circulating system of an elecrolytic solution in order to form the solution-break between cells. CONSTITUTION:A cell 1 is composed of a negative electrode made of a zinc electrode and a positive electrode made of a halogen electrode such as a liquid- permeable chlorine electrode or the like. An electrolytic solution is branched to be supplied from an inlet, via a liquid path 5, and into each cell. When the electrolytic solution is permeated through the halogen electrode, it is subjected to electrochemical reaction, exhausted from an outlet via a liquid path 6, and circulated to be supplied. On the way of the liquid path 5 or 6, a rotor-receiving external frame 9 made of electrically insulated material is installed, in which the rotor 8 is accommodated. The inside of the rotor 8 is divided into 8 compartments which are isolated in radial direction, by means of vane 10 which are divided in radial direction and are made of electrically insulated material.
