Abstract
PURPOSE:To accelerate the contact of a magnetic toner and a sleeve and to inject electric charge from the sleeve to more particles of the toner by agitating the thin layer of the toner by means of magnetic force prior to developing. CONSTITUTION:A developing magentic pole 15, auxiliary poles 23a, 23b and a conveying magnetic pole are provided in a grounded conductive sleeve 17. A high resistance magnetic toner 14 is conveyed on the sleeve by the rotation of the sleeve 17. After it is shaped to a thin layer by a doctor blade 20, it is magnetically disturbed by the poles 23a, 23b. By this disturbance, the contact probability of the toner particles with the sleeve 17 is increased, and the injection of electric charge 21 from the sleeve to the toner 14 is accomplished over the entire part of the upper and lower parts of a toner layer 22.
