Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent destruction of an encapsulated toner and to enhance electric charging performance and fixability by using a specified encapsulated toner and a substantially spherical carrier. CONSTITUTION:The encapsulated toner particles have each a rugged form with wrinkled parts and each is composed of a core material comprising a solvent, a fixing resin 1 dissolved in said solvent into a solution, and coloring pigment particles 2 dispersed in said solution, and an shell 3 encapsulated by executing the interfacial polymerization method or the in situ polymerization method to produce a resin insoluble and nonswellable in said solvent on the circumference of each of the core particles, and the carrier has a substantially spherical form, thus permitting the obtained developer not to cause destruction of the encapsulated toner and to be good in rising of charging and fixability.
