Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic sorter which can simultaneously sort both nonmagnetic conductors and magnetic conductors by imparting induction current thrust to the nonmagnetic conductors by means of magnetic pole for generating a linear moving magnetic field and attracting force in magnetic pole direction to the magnetic conductors.
CONSTITUTION: When waste is sequentially supplied from a hopper 9 onto a belt conveyor 6, it is conveyed in the direction by an arrow a toward the lower portion of the belt 4. Magnetic poles for generating linear magnetic field, namely magnetic poles 20 of a linear motor are arranged inside the belt 4. Thus, nonmagnetic materials 18 not affected by the poles 20 at all are dropped into a hopper 14, and nonmagnetic materials 17 affected by the moving magnetic field of the poles 20 at the end of the conveyor 6 are spattered by repelling from the surface of the poles in the moving magnetic field direction to be thus dropped into a hopper 15. On the other hand, magnetic materials 13 are attracted onto the belt 4 to be thus moved and to be then thrown into a hopper 11.
