Abstract
PURPOSE:To relieve residual stresses without generating disturbance in pitches and distortions in an axial direction by supporting coil materials freely slidably, by each turn, in plural point contacts along the axial direction on the surfaces of their bores, putting the parts other than those in the point contact into a non-contact state and subjecting these to a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of stanchions 2 are fixed upright by leaving a constant spacing L on a pallet 1, and branched support parts 21 having a U- or Y- shape are formed to the upper ends of the stanchions 2. Coil materials C are inserted onto bar materials 3, are placed in a horizontal state on the parts 21 and are so provided that each of the coils C makes point contact with the materials 3 at one point. Thence, when the coils are subjected to a heat treatment in this state, the elongation produced when the residual stresses of the coils C are released by heating are dispersed by each one turn and is thereby decreased, thus the coils slide and elongate gradually spirally in accordance with the turning direction of the wire rods and since the coils per se elongate progressively along the axial line, no deformations in the axial line direction are produced and no deformations in the outside circumferential direction are produced either.
