Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect abnormal decrease in high voltage, in the recording device wherein ink particles are passed between deflection electrodes to which the high voltage is applied, by comparing the input side DC current to a high voltage power source and a preset value, and displaying the result. CONSTITUTION:The electric charge corresponding to information is imparted to an ink particle 23 in charging electrodes 21. The ink particle 23 is deflected in deflecting electrodes 3 to which the high voltage is applied from the high voltage power source 1 and the recording is performed. A detecting device of the high voltage down detects the input side DC current to the high voltage power source 1 as a voltage by a resistor 30. The voltage is inputted to a comparator 33 through an amplifier 31 and a resistor 32 and compared with the preset voltage. The preset voltage is determined by empirically measuring the normal state and the input side DC current at the time of the hgh voltage down. Therefore, when the ink leakage at the high voltage and the high voltage down occurs, the output of the comparator 33 becomes the ground potential, a display element 10 is lighted, and the abnormality is reported.
