Abstract

PURPOSE:To expand communication range by cmpensating its limit which depends upon the directivity of an antenna and an upward/downward difference in set position, by providing antennars to a radio communication device like a base station, by distributing transmission outputs, and by adequately switching reception inputs. CONSTITUTION:A radio wave emitted from a mobile station 2 is received by the antenna 3 of a base station 1, and the antenna 3 selected by a switching circuit 9 is connected to a receiver 7. When the intensity of a received electric field exceeds a prescribed value, a squelch circuit opens to start a stopping circuit 13, which stops the operation of circuits 12 and 9. Consequently, the selection of one antenna 3 is continued. The output of a transmitter 5, on the other hand, is supplied to each antenna 3.
