Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve effective use of radio lines, by performing automatic relaying only when the relay station receives a tone signal for automatic relaying and a reception signal. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic waves from a base station (not shown) are received at a receiver 10 through an antenna 8 and an antenna switch 9, demodulated at a signal reception section 11 and supplied to a relay controller 14. A transmitter 15 is started only when a reception signal and a tone signal requesting relaying are present at the relay controller 14, and electromagnetic waves from the base station are relayed to a mobile station (not shown) via an antenna switch 17 and a transmission/reception antenna 18. On the other hand, the electromagnetic waves from the mobile station are received at a receiver 16 via the antenna 18 and the switch 17 and supplied to the relay controller 14. The waves are relayed to the base station via a signal transmission secton, a transmitter 12 and the antenna 8 only when the tone signal requesting relaying is present.
