Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat exchange element making the best use of the heat transmitting property and moisture absorbing property of paper by a method wherein only the both end surfaces of the cylindrical configuration composed of two bands of a corrugated paper and of a flat paper overlapped on each other and wound in the form of cylinder are bonded in the manufacture of the heat exchange element, which is small in size and in capacity.
CONSTITUTION: A band of paper board composed of corrugated paper 14 and flat paper 15 adhered with each other is wound to an element holder 16 in a winding process by fixing the starting end of the band to the holder 16 and, at the end of the winding process, the final end of the band is also fixed by bonding to the cylinder itself. At the next arrangement process, each of the both end surfaces of the wound cylinder is made even by touching each end surface on a plane surface flat 25. After that, only the both end surface parts of the corrugated paper and the plain paper are dipped in a bonding agent 24 to be bonded, while the intermediate part, except the both end surface parts, remain in unbonded state. Owing to said unbonded intermediate part, the heat exchange element 10 can exhibit heat accumulating/radiating effect and moisture accumulating/releasing effect of the corrugated paper 14 and the flat paper 15 into full play and the transfer of the sensible heat and the latent heat can be ensured and as well as the heat exchange element 10 with enough strength can be obtained.
