Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the starting efficiency of a diesel engine vehicle by giving a sufficiently quick heating property t the engine by a method wherein at least one of metals such as Fe and Co is used as the heat resistant member to be embedded in a heat resistant metal forming part of the preheating plug. CONSTITUTION:The preheating plug used in the diesel engine is constructed in such a manner that a thin metallic wire as the heat resistant member is embedded in a heat resistant metallic pipe of stainless steel or the like and a heat resistant dielectric material such as magnesia powder is packed in the space between the heat resistant member and the heat resistant metallic pipe. In this case, at least one of Fe and Co is used as the heat resistant member. These metals must be pure without the inclusion of other alloy elelments therein. Further, in case where Co alloy including Fe 35-70% is used, the diesel engine can have a sufficiently quick heating property and the efficiency of the diesel engine vehicle can be effectively improved.
