Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the thawing of a frozen material without using a particular apparatus for generating chilled air nor causing the problems such as waste water treatment, by sucking the chilled air in the thawing chamber containing the frozen material, and blasting the chilled air to the frozen material.
CONSTITUTION: A container 12 containing the frozen material to be thawed is put in the thawing chamber 1 and closed with a door 3. The blower 7 is operated to suck the chilled air in the thawing chamber 1 through the suction openings 5, 5 and blast to the frozen material through the blasting openings 11, 11, 11. When the temperature of the chilled air is lower than the preset level, outer atmosphere having higher temperature is introduced into the chamber by opening the damper 14 to adjust the temperature in the chamber to the preset level.
