Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent mechanical life from shortening and excess current from being fed by limiting the drive of lens opening for a longer period than the time required until video signals are stabilized when power is turned on through a timer circuit or when lens opening driving current is excessive. CONSTITUTION:When power 16 is turned on by closing a switch 17, the timer of a common circuit 24 outputs high level pulses for a longer period than the time required until video signals are stabilized to turn off the transistor 18 of a lens opening driving circuit 10. Therefore, current is not fed to a control circuit 19 which controls a lens opening driving motor 11 on the basis of the control voltage 9 with the differential voltage between the DC voltage proportional to the strength of video signals and the standard voltage, limiting the drive of lens opening caused by the unstable video signals. When overcurrent fed to the motor 11 through resistance 27 is detected, the overcurrent is also prevented from being fed to the motor 11.
