Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a motor against danger and to alleviate the shock in collision, by driving a gate circuit of a TRIAC at a point of contact B of a relay. CONSTITUTION:A power amplifier is composed of a base drive circuit and a power transistor(Tr) 2. A DC motor 3 is driven with this amplifier. In parallel to this motor 3 a short-circuit resistance 5 and a TRIAC 4 are connected. Between this gate G and a control terminal T2 a point of contact B 7a of a relay 7 and a gate resistance 6 are connected in series. Thus, if a stop signal is inputted when the DC motor 3 is rotating, a base drive circuit 1 will be turned off and a power transistor 2 also off. At the same time, the relay 7 is turned off and the point of contact B 7a is closed. As a result, the TRIAC 4 is turned on and across the terminals of the motor 3 the current is shored through the short-circuit resistance 5 and short-circuit brake is applied to the motor 3, to which the short-circuit current flows.
