Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber containing a metal core of which the skin of a sponge rubber part is smooth, by microwave heating the extruded article composed of the metal core, solid rubber and the sponge rubber after introducing the extruded article in the surface heating oven and forming the skin on the sponge rubber.
CONSTITUTION: An object to be heated is composed of a metal core 1, solid rubber 2 and a sponge rubber 3. A high frequency induction heating apparatus 10 is composed of a heating coil 10' and a high frequency oscillator 17 and the high frequency wave is supplied to the coil 10' from the oscillator. The microwave heating apparatus 12 is connected to the oscillator 19 via the wave guide 18 and the microwave energy supplied by it is absorbed by the rubber passing through an oven and heats the rubber rapidly. In this time, the sponge rubber part foams rapidly by action of a foaming agent, however, because the hardened skin is beforehand formed on its surface by a surface preheating oven 11, the sponge rubber having the smooth surface is obtained without roughening the surface is obtained without roughening the surface by generated gas.
