Abstract

In a method of cleaning a metallic vulcanizing mould for the manufacture of a rubber object, the inside surface of the mould is heated, e.g. by high frequency electro-magnetic induction, for a duration and at an elevated temperature together effective to dissociate any adherent rubber at least partially and then subjecting the mould to an ultra sonic cleaning treatment in a liquid, e.g. water which may contain a wetting agent.
