Abstract
PURPOSE: To discriminate the goodness of welding surely by adding preheating current conduction and cooling period before conduction of welding current, and discriminating the goodness of welding from waveform exhibited by inter-electrode resistance or voltage during welding, and stopping the welding current.
CONSTITUTION: Conduction of electricity for the purpose of preheating the work is carried out during t1Wt2 prior to supply of welding current between electrodes. Next, the work preheated by the preheating current is cooled during t2W t3. Hence, the dirt, oil film, surface treatment film, etc. on the work surface burn out. When welding current is supplied during t3Wt4 in succession to this, the work is heated, and in proportion to this, inter-electrode resistance or voltage rises. During t4Wt5, the rise of the inter-electrode resistance or voltage saturates and the crest of the weveform is formed, then the formation of nugget begins. At the same time, the inter-resistance electrode or voltage drops, and from the change value of the drop from the peak value, the welding is discriminated to be good, and the welding current is stopped.
