Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve print quality, by providing a residual toner powder removing device which cleans the light emission surface of an optical fiber tube automatically in every predetermined period. CONSTITUTION:As predetermined printing ends, an optical fiber tube (OFT) 3 is disconnected automatically from a drum, and consequently a slider 12 is driven as shown by an arrow through a driving pulley 9 connected to a motor 8. The slider 12 is therefore mounted on the light emission surface 31 of the OFT3 by a step plate 15, and a cleaner chip while pressed against the light emission surface 31 by a slider shaft is moved in contact with the light emission surface 31. As the slider 12 reaches the endmost part of the light emission surface 31, a microswitch 17 is opened or closed by a projection 14 to send an inverted signal to the motor 8. Then, the slider 12 returns to its original position in the opposite operation to said operation and the motor is stopped by the switch 17, thereby completing the cleaning of the light emission surface 31.
