Abstract

PURPOSE:To clean an optical means easily and surely, by providing a process kit, which is loaded freely to a prescribed position of the device main body, and a cleaning member which is moved by loading and unloading operation for this kit. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 3, a charger 4, a developer 5, and cleaner 13 constitute a process kit 14 as one body. This kit 14 is freely loaded and unloaded to and from a main body C. A felt 15b is attached to an array cleaning member 15 and is brought into contact with the end face of an array 2 on a base 15a, which is provided on an upper face 14a of the kit 14 and consists of an elastic material such as a polyurethane foam mold plane, with a proper pressure. The array cleaning member 15 is provided in a position deeper than an aperture 16 for forming an image part and has no influence upon the picture at a copying time and cleans all of regions of the image part of the array 2 when the kit 14 is inserted to the main body. Thus, the array 2 is cleaned easily and surely.
