Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the simultaneous injection of many kinds of liq. crystals into a display body obtd. by laminating different kinds of liq. crystal layers by forming injection holes for the cells of the display body on the same side at different positions. CONSTITUTION:Four glass supports 16, 17, 18, 19 are set at equal spaces with nylon spacers 20, 21, and injection holes 22, 23 are formed on the same side at different positions by cutting the spacers. In order to prevent a liq. crystal from spreading owing to its wetting property and different kinds of liq. crystals from mixing with each other owing to the spreading, mixing inhibitors 24, 25 made of silicone resin are attached to the peripheries of the injection holes. By filling the cells of the laminated display body with color liq. crystal prepared by dissolving dichromatic dyes of red, blue and yellow in a cholesteric liq. crystal with positive dielectric anisotropy, mixed colors such as purple, green organge and brown besides the 3 primary colors can be displayed arbitrarily in accordance with the combination of voltages applied to electrodes 37, 38, 39.
