Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the spring constant of a strut type air suspension for an automotive wheel suspension to be adjustable without varying the height of a vehicle by providing the rod stopper mechanism of the air suspension removably and interposing a spacer between the mechanism and an air tank. CONSTITUTION:A washer 4 having a stopper function is mounted via a bearing 5 with a nut 6 to urge the step 1b of a rod 1. A spacer 3 is interposed between an air tank 2 and the washer 4. At its adjusting tie the washer 4 is removed. The thickness of the spacer 3 is altered, thereby elevationally moving the position of the lower surface of the washer 4 in contact with the upper surface of the air tank 2 with respect to the rod 1. Thus, the volume of the air chamber A is varied. Accordingly, the spring constant can be arbitrarily selected without varying the height of the vehicle.
