Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover the energy in good efficiency by converting pressure energy of an unadsorbed component gas issued from an adsorption tower to power energy by an adiabatic expansion turbine to operate a vacuum pump.
CONSTITUTION: After stock air is cooled by a heat exchanger 28 and pressure thereof is raised by a pressure raising machine 29, it is cooled by a water cooling type after-cooler 30, a heat exchanger 33 and a cooling machine 31 to be sent to an adsorption tower 21 of an adsorbing process through a valve 24 An O2 gas in air is adsorbed in the adsorption tower 21 and the residual N2 gas is sent to a heat exchanger 33 through a valve 46 and air after pressure raising is cooled. Further, said N2 gas is sent to an expansion turbine 44 to operate the turbine 44 by the pressure thereof and, thereafter, sent to the heat exchanger 28 as a cooling medium. On the other hand, in an adsorption tower 22 of a desorption and regeneration process, after air therein is exhausted through a valve 35, the turbine 44 is operated by a vacuum pump 45 and an inside of the tower is evacuated to desorb O2 and to send out the same through a valve 39.
