Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform stable submerged arc welding despite welding of large heat input by contg. total amts. of specific amts. of SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, MnO, MgO, CaO, CaF2 and specific amts. of MgO, CaO, CaF2, keeping the basicity shown by specific formulas are a specific range and providing specific grain size fistributions.
CONSTITUTION: This flux contains, by weight %, 16W30 SiO2, 6W15 TiO2, 14W35 Al2O3, <5 MnO, 5.5W15 MgO, 8W20 CaO, 10W25 CaF2, and is of the composition of 30W49 MgO+CaO+CaF2. The basicity BL expressed by the formula is kept within a 0W1.7 range, and the grain size distributions wherein coarse grains of ≥500μ grain sized out of particles are ≤5% and fine grains of ≤74μ are 5W18% are provided. Here, the Nj in the formula denotes molar fraction of the component J of an index and CaF2 is substituted after conversion to CaO.
